Once upon a time, the paranormal investigator went into the field with nothing more than a notebook and camera, but as the years passed more and more indispensible gear found its way onto the scene, to the point where a special equipment vest had to be created to carry all the tools of the trade. Today, no self respecting investigator would be caught dead without his EMF meter and temperature probe, a flashlight, camera and recording device; the only problem is that our equipment list has evolved but the human body still only has two hands! So, the camera goes around your neck, the recorder in your shirt pocket but which device is in what hand otherwise? The answer was obvious, but it took an enterprising engineer to actually address the problem. Enter the Mel Meter! Today, there are several versions of the Mel Meter designed for your specific needs. The basic device holds a state of the art EMF detector and a temperature probe, along with a microprocessor that can record significant events of your choosing. Later models have incorporated a red flashlight for those who only work in the dark and even a sensor to detect motion like a seismic sensor and a vibrating device to let you “feel” a corresponding EMF spike when encountered, should you not be paying attention. The Mel Meter is not a toy, it is a precision instrument, much more sensitive than the common K-2 EMF device, going well into the ELF range and the thermometer is adjustable using the Mel Meters “Smart Calibration” feature. When in EMF Burst Mode, 100% of the microprocessor is dedicated to the EMF sensor function, reassessing the field so quickly it is almost impossible to read the changes on the device but records the data for later retrieval and review by the investigator. There are several versions of the Mel Meter currently available and custom orders are available to add other features for special projects. In a very short period of time, the Mel Meter has changed the face of paranormal field work and put all the right tools in just one hand. Remarkably, these units are far less expensive than the sum of the price of each component, so the newcomer to the field can enjoy quality instrumentation without a bank loan.
