| A trip to Louisiana |

The family in question had suffered psychological and psychic trauma throughout their lives; one sister died as a teenager after a long illness, the house in question had a history of lingering deaths, but was just now turning decidedly ugly in its character, which seemed at face value to be more like a case of infestation than merely a haunting, but before any answers could be hypothesized, in depth research had to be accomplished and a field trip had to be organized. Research into the property ownership, former uses of the land and public records brought us nothing that we had not learned from the family, so we were about to embark on a long trip armed with little but our toolkits, cameras and training. After arriving at the home in the late afternoon, we were met by an in-law who gave us the keys to the house. A gatekeeper was posted and the tech team went in to set up cameras and do a floor plan of the house. After that the team members entered the house in pairs to get individual base line readings. By the time that was accomplished we broke for a dinner break before proceeding with more in-depth investigating. On our return the group once more began to look at each part of the house, for example, one team member was using the toilet and was shocked when a shower door suddenly closed, it was anecdotal, there was no second witness, but interesting, never the less. The group lead investigator was sure that she had seen someone walking into the dining room as she tried to fall asleep, while another team member was sitting at the dining room table and saw nothing. A closet door reportedly would open and close at will, but a camera trained on the door remained shut all night long…the next morning, after the gear was shut down and removed, the door was once again found open, but no one had touched it. The next morning, members of the family came to the house to be interviewed and they told tales that rivaled anything found in the Amityville Horror, but the stories only meshed partially with the evidence. It was decided that while the trip was a long one, there would be a need to return with more specialized gear and perhaps another fresh team for a second look. The family agreed and we were on our way home. Later that week, we had conversations with several family members, one of whom reported that when one of girls in the family returned to the house after our visit, a friend who had accompanied her asked what room was most affected. When the man, whom family members often called Hulk Hogan, entered the room, he reportedly was lifted off the floor and was being strangled, he eventually got loose of his unseen attacker and ran from the property. Now the family was in a quandary; they wanted to sell the property, but feared that further investigation would only upset the spirits and make it unsellable. They also feared that neighbors would figure out what was going on and did not want to be branded as supporting a haunted house. The case study abruptly ended when the family decided that our services were no long needed. ©2007 – ASUP (All Rights Reserved) |
